by fire in 1613. The new Globe Theatre opened in London back in 1997. |

venue in the heart of London. It was built by Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert, and is one of the most famous performing arts venues around the world.
It is home to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and is open for evening concerts and daytime visitors. |

The National Gallery (situated in Trafalgar Square) houses one of the greatest collections of Western European painting in the world,
including masterpieces by many great artists such as Monet, Rubens, Van Dyke and Van Gogh. These pictures belong to the public and
entrance to the gallery is free. |

The Tate Modern is the national gallery of contemporary and modern art.
Opened in 2000 it is one of the family of four Tate galleries which display artwork from the Tate Collection.
The gallery itself is also unique because it has been constructed inside a disused power station in the heart of London,
and because of its vast interior space it is able to display modern artwork and sculptures on an impressive scale.
